La Briciola Santo Domingo:
Carlo Prandoni
President
Gianni Valveri
Vice-President
Our brief history:
In 1993, a group of Italian friends met in Milan to discuss a shared
dream. They hoped to create a restaurant in Santo Domingo that would be
classic in style and would offer an exceptional level of gastronomy.
After an extensive search, they found an architectural jewel in old
Santo Domingo. A corner house dating back to the 17th century, which ad
once been the site of three well known restaurants and enjoyed a
location almost directly across from the First Cathedral to be erected
in America. Shortly afterwards, an extensive restoration process took
place. After a year of meticulous work, a Spanish style courtyard was
discovered. An enchanted place, much like a secret garden, it had been
concealed for centuries and was now at last given new life!
Gianni Valveri, one of the partners in this venture and owner of La
Briciola di Milano, suggested using the same name and christened La
Briciola of Santo Domingo, continuing a tradition of culinary
excellence.
A magical place of candlelight, ancient stones and columns, music and
the scent of jasmine, La Briciola in the Colonial City is the location
of choice for a romantic evening! Aside from the restored courtyard that
everyone loves for "al fresco" dining, there are also three air
conditioned rooms, ideal for meetings, events, a business lunch or
private dinner.
After several years in this unique setting, La Briciola continues to
offer outstanding Italian Cuisine, with quality service.
In the last years the Management of Carlo Prandoni has been able to keep
the Magic of the Place, with the Accent on good Taste, Flavorful Fare
and a Passion for Beauty in every Detail! |
